Dockland is an office building on the Elbe River near the former England ferry dock and current cruise terminal in Hamburg’s Altona-Altstadt district . The six-story building has a striking cross-section in the shape of a parallelogram and juts out over the water like the bow of a ship. The design for Dockland is by Hamburg-based BRT Architekten Bothe Richter Teherani. A special feature in the building are the diagonal passenger elevators. The almost 500-square-meter roof terrace offers a good view of the Port of Hamburg and the northern bank of the Elbe; it is accessible to the public via one of the two flight of stairs; representatives of the press, however, require a filming permit. The height of the building is 25 meters, there are 136 steps leading up to the platform. The lateral surface is a parallelogram 134 meters long and 25 meters high. The building is 21 meters wide
