The building was constructed in 1993 and is owned by Union Investment GmbH. The building is operated by “Deutsche Hospitality” as a leasehold Steigenberger Hotel Hamburg. The Steigenberger Hotel Hamburg is currently classified as a five-star superior hotel (according to DEHOGA). The hotel retains this classification even after the renovation. It is a 12-storey building with 9 above-ground storeys, a fleet storey and 2 basement storeys on an area of approx. 18,400 m2 NGF. In addition to a spacious light-flooded and multi-storey lobby, the ground floor includes the public restaurant “Bistro am Fleet” in a large conservatory with adjoining terrace area on the Fleet Island, an open kitchen and the piano bar. The breakfast area, the cigar lounge and the canteen kitchen together with storage and other ancillary areas are located on the so-called fleet floor. The underground car park is located in the two basement levels and the administration wing on the ground floor, with a separate entrance opposite the hotel lobby. On the first floor, various interconnected conference rooms are arranged along a gallery overlooking the lobby, as well as the staff rooms (staff canteen, changing rooms, etc.). The other upper floors 2-7 contain a total of 233 hotel rooms with 6 junior suites and 6 suites. At Additional conference rooms and the banqueting area as well as technical areas are located on the 8th floor. At The 9th upper floor exclusively houses building services equipment, in particular ventilation and air-conditioning equipment. A ladder leads to a roof exit and the gravelled flat roof area as well as the enclosed cooling tower.
